The project consists of redeveloping the East-West Avenue of Agadir, one of the main arteries connecting the urban center and the seaside sector of the city over a length of around 5 kilometers and an area of nearly 40 ha. Based on the concept of a park / longitudinal garden, a reflection is carried out on the layout of the spaces for sporting and cultural activities, the rest areas, the accessibility to the site, the plantations, the floor coverings, the public lighting and street furniture. A brief landscape analysis was carried out to identify the parameters that prevail in the site so that they are taken into consideration.
To meet the demand and ensure a coherent and fluid design, the choice of the common thread of the project is essential, around which all the elements will take place and the project will take shape. The planning option proposed for the east-west avenue is materialized by a winding path that runs the length of the project. It has two variants; upstream of the site the aisle will have a variation in width to accentuate the effect of movement and dynamics that will experience this part of the site where a variety of equipment is offered. For the rest of the site, the aisle will be the same width to harmonize with the narrow space where it is installed. This path is the backbone of the project, it is practical and functional, but also decorative and personalized. The proposed alley will be frequented by users looking for rest and relaxation in a friendly space, by athletic people looking for body well-being and by those in a hurry who want to cross to a specific location. A single alley but a multitude of functions. Around this alley there will be several structures that meet the needs of the inhabitants, but not just anyhow. The installation of each item of equipment was conditioned by its consistency with its environment; for example, sports equipment is placed near universities to be far from residents, so less discomfort for the latter, but close to students and therefore more comfort for them, etc. The perpendicular crossings follow the access plan established in the site analysis to be best suited to the usual routes of users. To maintain the consistency of the premises and the comfort of the eyes, it is important to integrate the section previously carried out by an architect’s office. This integration was based on the planting logic that follows the proposed movement for the aisle. We propose to replant the plant species in wavy curves that rhyme with the shapes chosen for the path. Thus the five kilometers that the east-west bar travels materializes this green flow of promenade and serenity which paradoxes the dense urban fabric where it is located.
Focus on the layout of modular parking lots.
Focus on the connecting space between the furnished space and the future planning
The connecting space creates consistency between the existing landscaped space and the western part of the project. It consists of a modeling of the land and a concrete surface like what exists on the existing development.
To facilitate the representation of the master plan, the latter will be presented in five sections, a separate plan for the part produced by the architectural firm and a detail of the central reservation
